The Fountain of the Immaculate
This fountain was designed in the years following the devastating earthquake of 1805 to meet the needs of the time: washing, watering animals, and drawing drinking water for domestic use. Its construction was completed in 1862, and during the Fascist era, a statue of the Immaculate Virgin was erected, from which it takes its name.

Commonly called the "Fonte Grossa," it has become, over the years, the very symbol of the Frosinone community. A popular spot, it echoed with the chatter, singing, and lively activity of the "Laundry Ladies," or washerwomen, who used this fountain to wash their husbands' and children's dirty laundry.
Over time, it became a place where women could gather to share their stories, problems, joys, and worries.
